Beef Industry: U.S. May Need Strategic Hamburger Reserve after Obama EPA Implements New Regulations

October 8, 2010

Imagine you work on a cattle ranch in the midwest.  Look around you.  Do you see verdant fields of green interspersed with the beauty and wonderment that is wild flowers?  No, you see dirt and a buttload of cows.  If the EPA has its way, we will see more of the former and less of the latter.

Dirt is bad for the environment.

According to the EPA, our damn farmers and ranchers kick up too much dust.  I understand to some, the vision laid out in the first paragraph is appealing (we should all wish for a floral utopia across all of America, too bad humans have to live somewhere huh comrade?), but enacting stricter regulation of “dust” that will inevitably hamper economic activity is not only stupid, it is careless in “the worst economic recession since the great depression” to quote Obama.

Is this special dust you may ask?  Nope.  Regular old dust that comes from the ground.  Apparently the EPA has a mandate to protect the environment from the environment.

I have to wonder if there is a more nefarious reasoning behind this.  Follow me on this one.  Progressives want more wind mills, wind mills take land, ranching takes land (but kills the beautiful and noble cow), ergo regulate ranching out of business, build a lot of wind mills.  Don Quixote be praised!

Maybe I am wrong.  Lets use our imagination again.  You are sitting on the front porch of your beautiful government house, tapping your foot in time to the tunes from Air America, a glass of artificially sweetened ice tea in your hand, the remains of a $300 New York strip on your plate, the view is gorgeous, dirt covered plains stretch for miles broken up by the occasional tall white spire of a windmill endlessly spinning.  You love your new front yard, but damn does the wind really kick up the dust.  The EPA should do something about it.

And, don’t forget, livestock are one of the biggest group of polluters on the planet. All that methane in the atmosphere is causing Global Warming (Guess that would be termed BGW – Bovinepogenic Glogal Warming). Oops, forgot that Russia is predicting the coldest winter in 1000 years. Southern California had the coolest summer in decades. The East Coast had one of the warmest summers in the last few years. I guess that trumps the cooling though, so it proves Global Warming. Wonder if Al Gore is a vegan, or does the Soliciter-in-Chief get a bye because he travels around in his jet spreading the religiion of Anthropogenic Global Warming (sorry, guess it is Climate Change now, since Global Warming has taken a hit). Funny how those Inconvenient Truths can jump up and bite you in the lower anatomy.

Actually its Global Climate Disruption now, cause its the way the message is being delivered that us flat earthers don’t understand.
