Islam proves its equality for women, not really

Saudi clerics endorse ban on female cashiers – World AP – MiamiHerald.com.

Imagine being a woman in Saudi Arabia.  You have to completely cover your body from head to toe in black garments.  You can’t drive or ride a bicycle because if it breaks down you might possibly have to talk to a man for help.  And, if these Saudi clerics get there way, you can’t have a job as a cashier for the same reason.

That’s right, Saudi Arabia, who is currently trying to get on the board of the new UN agency for Women, is trying to prevent women from having jobs in which they will interact with men.  From an un-related article in 2007 I am using to drive the point home: [from RIANOVOSTI]

The clerical police, or Mutaween, are authorized to arrest unrelated men and women caught socializing, anyone suspected of being homosexual or a prostitute, and to enforce Islamic dress codes.

Clerical police?  Nice, can we get a little Sharia law in America please?  Anyone?  Pretty please?  Interesting how our MSM doesn’t report on stuff like this.  Joy, Whoopi?

Saudi Arabia’s enforcement of these laws is so strict, check this out:

One of the most widely criticized incidents, involving women rights abuse, occurred on March 11, 2002, when schoolgirls were prevented from escaping a burning school in Mecca, because they were not wearing headscarves and abayas. Fifteen girls died and 50 were injured as a result.

Any progressive women want to volunteer to live in Saudi Arabia for a few years?  How about a few months?  I didn’t think so.

That’s one thing I just can’t understand about any of these liberals, socialists, Marxists, you name it. If the old Soviet Union, Peoples Republic of China, North Korea, etc. had/have such a good societal model, then why don’t they move over there. I’m sure all of our MSM talking heads would be welcomed with open arms. They would be given an open microphone to spout their Socialistic drivel to the masses. Unfortunately, they could never say anything negative about the government.

Isn’t this the height of hypocrisy. We are the most free country in the history of the world. The talking heads can say virtually anything they want to say without fear of retribution, and all they can spout is how great the society is in these third world hell-holes.

As I quoted in a post yesterday – “We has Met the Enemy, and he is US!” If the public listens to and accepts this drivel, then we deserve what we get.

Good stuff. But I fear one point is missed, and that is indoctrination. My kids are being taught in government schools that these cultures are not only technically and historically superior to America, but also morally superior. Luckily, I have brainwashed my kids early to block most of the propaganda, but it still leaks through. The PCification of America also allows the leak to increase to a torrent.

What have we learned in the last month? If you say muslims attacked us on 9/11, you get walked out on during an interview, by the interviewers! If you state muslims make you uncomfortable on a plane, you get fired. So our kids are also taught to not even think about muttering something negative about the protected group of the day. If you can’t say it, you eventually won’t think it.

I would like to know one thing. Where are all of the women’s rights groups when something like this raises it’s ugly head? You would think they would be all over this, but what do you hear? Nary a word.
