The message from the voters, according to Obama, is that The Car (to use his beloved, overused analogy), while still in the ditch, is undeniably moving in the right direction. We just have to go faster than we are. Democratic losses can be explained because they lost the optics war: in pursuing so many wise and prudent policies all at once, you see, the hyperactive president and his administration only appeared as if they were profligate spenders and champions of big government. And what Mr. Obama most needs to do, we learned, is to get out of “the bubble” (read: Washington) more than he has. A few more trips to Idaho and Wyoming, it seems, and all would be right with the world once more.
And what set of Obama remarks would be complete without the requisite lecturing — in this case, on the importance of “civility in our discourse” and the importance of being able to “disagree without being disagreeable.” This admonition comes after Obama, during the last few days of the campaign, referred to his opponents as “enemies,” hinted that the Tea Party Movement is tinged with racism, charged Republicans with being dishonest, and accused, without a shred of evidence, the Chamber of Commerce of using illegal money to support Republican candidates across the country. But never mind. After his victory in 2008, Obama’s message to Republicans was: “I won.” Today, after his party was throttled, Obama’s message is: “Come let us reason together.”

But yet, if you read the MSM, “he gets it.” What a load of BS. This guy is such an egomaniac, there is no way that he is going to listen to anyone. He is VERY dangerous, and just like a cornered animal, the more he feels threatened, the more aggressive he will become.
We have to stay even more vigilant to his behind the scenes moves. He can no longer get things done through through legislation, so he will attempt to get his agenda through Executive Order or through reregulation within the various departments (i.e., EPA, FCC, FTC, etc.).
The MSM is worthless in reporting these actions, so we must rely on the internet and other alternative media to keep us informed. I am not paranoid, just a realist. This regime will stop at nothing to get their agenda accomplished.
I think paranoia is a little healthy and quickly becoming the new norm. The biggest trick government ever pulled on the people is to make us think they aren’t corrupt. We need to keep these people’s feet to the fire and get some answers to simple things like, where is all the stimulus money? Where is the missing billions from TARP? How come these bastards can’t pay their taxes? And other stuff.
We also need to keep our newly elected Republicans from sliding into the same old s**t that often happens if people don’t look, listen and act when the politicians start to spend, or legislate without fear of getting kicked out in the next primary.
Obama will do what he will do. Keeping the Republicans on the right track is more important.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I agree, we can’t make Obama do anything, but we can hold the republicans to account with our votes in 2012. I honestly think they got the message, but for how long? The real question is can we make this a permanent thing, or is it just a reaction to the overt progressivism of the obama administration?
It’s not that he’s out of touch, or that he is living in some sort of bubble, the truth is he just doesn’t care what we think. He’s a community organizer, confrontation is his game. He’s a radical ideologue that fundamentally wants to transform America. He’s an opportunist that will take advantage of any crisis to press forward his Marxist agenda. So I’m not sure if out of touch is the right description of this man. He knows what he is and believes in the journey he is on. This is why he doesn’t believe he has done anything wrong. This is why he believes that we simply don’t understand him. I would say he’s more narrow minded than anything.
You might be right. The question of whether he is delusional or not is whether or not he knows the American people thinks he has done wrong. There is no question he thinks he is right, but is he capable of understanding when someone doesn’t agree with him? Not understanding their position, but at least understanding his audience enough to know that his policies are not misconstrued by a mass of morons, but that they just don’t agree with his actions?
To me those are the real questions. Because they point to his narcissism and his idealogue nature.
Well, at least some of the Republicans seem to get it. Even though they won resoundingly on Tuesday, the House leadership is apparently NOT going to take it for granted as did THE WON and his cohorts in 2008. John Boehner (House Minority Leader and future Speaker of the House – bye, bye, Nancy) has a very good article in the Wall Street Journal entitled “What the Next Speaker Must Do.” Mr. Boehner certainly sounds sincere in his writing, and is saying all of the right things. We’ll be watching him and all of the other Members VERY closely over the next few months/years to hold them to their words. While it will be difficult to do all of the things they have promised, it can be accomplished if they are earnest about it. It will take several years to correct the damage that has been done during the last two years (longer than that if you count the Democrat’s congressional majority for the last 4 years). We can accept short-term obstacles and set-backs, but we cannot accept hypocrisy.

I think they get it too. We will see though, but I think they understand they have to be a foil to the democrats, if not, why the hell vote for them over the progressives?
