California school says the Stars and Stripes is “unsafe”

November 13, 2010

Can we just get rid of California once and for all please? The newest affront to America, flying an American flag can cause “racial tension.”

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Kid Told to Remove Flag from Bike — KTXL, posted with vodpod

There is a good ending to this story, with a bit of an odd twist mixed in.

According to a letter posted on the Denair Unified School District’s web site:

And, the student involved in this incident is now again proudly
displaying his flag.

But according to the letter, the reason they asked the child to remove the flag is a little more detailed than just “racial tension”:

This request was based on concerns for the student’s immediate safety, and to give school staff time to investigate a potentially dangerous situation, involving threats to this student.
While it is our responsibility to ensure that all students are safe at school, we also support every students’ First Amendment rights. We are dealing with the students who threatened to disrupt the school environment.

Come on guys, lets call a spade a spade – California is no longer a part of the United States, it is its own little fiefdom full of America hating commies.  When flying an American flag is now considered “unsafe” behavior, you are living in an unkind foreign land.

At least the school district did the right thing, but this never should have happened in the first place.

If flying the American flag causes “trouble” then why not deal with the troublemakers? Any other lawful activity we should refrain from in order not to ever offend anyone?

Good question. Oh I know one, our freedom to protest the government in a non-violent, patriotic manner. From the news reports, that offends a ton of people.

I’ve been living out of the country for the last 17 years. But is it possible that thongs have changed that much? The left coast was always weird; but this is just too much.

      Thanks for the comment.

Yep, the Socialist Peoples Republic of California seriously cares more about not offending “unknown” people, than it is about flying the flag of our country.

Typical lib reaction. Always blame the victim. The kid is threatened because he exercises his Constitutional rights, and then he gets his rights trampled on because we can’t penalize some people with un-American sentiments. This is the slippery slope that we find ourselves on when we try to elevate all nationalities to the same level as US Citizenship. Why do we celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the public schools? Isn’t that a Mexican event when everybody goes to their local bar and downs a few Dos Equis (XX). Seriously though, why do we celebrate Mexican Independence in the US? I’m surprised that they don’t ask us to celebrate Nov. 7! No, that’s not an early Thanksgiving. It the anniversary of Lenin’s Bolshevic Revolution. That would be more fitting for the liberal philosophy.

When it becomes controversial to celebrate Veterans Day, Memorial Day, or July 4th, and they just become days-off to go to the beach and have a beer, we have lost touch with our country’s history. All of us need to take the time to teach our children why we celebrate these days in the US, and what these days mean to the continuation of our freedoms. Our youth are the keystone of regaining our former stature. We must all individually take it upon ourselves to teach our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbors, youth groups, etc. as to who we are and why we are such a great country.

I know it is not the “in-thing” to believe in American exceptionalism. But, isn’t that the epitome of liberalism/communism/socialism. The US can’t be exceptional – we have to be just like everyone else. We will all be consigned to the ashpit of history. Our country can’t be any more exceptional than the Duchy of Grand Fenwick. Although I believe that the liberals would actually give Fenwick more leeway than they give to the US.

Duchy of Grand Fenwick, holy crap. You are starting to sound like Dennis Miller, which is not a bad thing.

My whole point about this article is the premise of “exercising his constitutional rights.” While that might be what he was doing, I think the real point is that someone was told they can’t fly OUR NATIONAL FLAG in his own country! Forget the constitution for a moment, how insane is the premise that the Stars and Stripes would be offensive in America. It might very well be, but that is the problem of the person offended, not the flag. IT IS A SYMBOL OF OUR COUNTRY! It should never be challenged for any reason, within our own borders.

This story seriously pisses me off, which is why I said we should un-annex California and let them rot in the cesspool they are digging for themselves.

Welcome to the left’s version of reality. I like to call it…wait for it…Bizarro World. This is a sad place to be in this country.

Why people that consider themselves conservative still live there is beyond me.

By making the boy take the flag off his bike instead of dealing with those that threatened the violence the superintendent taught everyone involved a lesson that they probably won’t forget, and it is not a good lesson: he taught the students that a person can get what he wants by using the threat of violence. This superintendent did the exact opposite of what he should have done.
What kind of country are we now living in where flying the flag is considered a dangerous activity?!

    • November 14, 2010 11:40 am

The same country where sovereign soil on the border is “off-limits” to American citizens because it is too dangerous due to illegal alien drug trafficking.

A very good article by Arnold Ahlert, entitled Taking Back our Country, One School at a Time, in the Jewish World Review, describes not only the problem, but what we need to do to head us back in the right direction.

Wow, what a fantastic article. I love his first premise, you aren’t born hating America, you have to be taught it. Never really thought of it before, but like most truths, it seems so common sense once it is brought to light.
