The Hierarchy of Victims, further explained

Yesterday, in an article titled Why are conservatives and liberals so different?, I spoke briefly about a concept I coined the “Hierarchy of Victims.” My assertion being that this is how liberals group minorities consciously and unconsciously when meeting new people and in regards to continuing relations with people. I look to expound on this idea a bit more today.

First, let me explain yesterday’s article was primarily focused on white, male liberals, though many white women would qualify in most cases as well. Regardless of how you view our country, white people are still the majority race in the United States, and thusly any generalization of liberals should start from that group. That being said, I will now detail the primary “victims” in the hierarchy, how they fit in that role, as well as why they are predominantly liberal in their views.

Whites

This one is a no-brainer.  White liberals themselves are the top of the list in the hierarchy of victims.  The ego boost from empathizing with other victim groups only gets you so far, sometimes you have to be a victim yourself.  Depending on how far to the left you go, the entities making white liberals into victims fall into two categories, evil big business and government.  All liberals agree business is evil, but the government aspect can be a little sticky.  If you are only quasi-socialist, then it is just republican led government that is bad, if you are all the way socialist, it is all government (I know, it doesn’t make sense but its the truth, hardcore liberals see government as a means to an anarchist end).

So white liberals are victims, how does it manifest itself?  Primarily in the unions.  We are all familiar with the indignation unions feel over the “treading on the rights of the worker.”  Unions have always set themselves up as victims of the oppressive capitalist system and an oppressive capitalist run government.

The white liberal victim mentality explains why they treat other white people who are conservatives as stupid, ignorant, rednecks.  We are not smart enough to know we are victims.  We haven’t had our eyes opened to the truth.  We are hiding our heads in patriotism.  In truth, our refusing to be victims is an affront to their status as victims, as is the case with all minorities who refuse to be victims.  What justification do they have to be victims when there is proof that being a victim does not hold you back from improving your life?  They don’t, so the truth in the mind of a liberal is that conservatives are too stupid to know they are victims.

Blacks

First off, I refuse to call black people African-Americans, it is just stupid. A person born in the US is no more from Africa than a Caucasian-American is from the Caucasus. If you are born in America, maybe we should call you American-Americans. Sounds dumb huh? If I am “white”, then you are “black”, such is life.

Okay, so black people are perennially near the top of the victim hierarchy. The primary reason is they are the easiest group for white liberals to empathize with. More than enough history about slavery and the treatment of blacks in America exists for any person to learn of the hardships of blacks in the past. Not to mention movies, television and magazines all are dedicated to keeping the memory of slavery alive.

Liberals can empathize with these victims most easily. Liberals are most familiar with black people, the narrative is already set. It doesn’t take much brains to figure out what is needed to empathize with black people.

But why are black people also liberals? Primarily because the victim status is an enabler. For the most part, blacks are not liberal minded. Most studies show the traditional black family as having strong conservative values, so how come blacks vote 91% for democrats, and by extension as of late, liberal? The victim status is a strong draw. Who wouldn’t be sucked into a group of people that will forgive any and all your actions because your race has been mistreated? Just because conservatives like responsibility doesn’t mean we seek to be more responsible if we don’t have to. All humans like to be given an easier life.

And remember, from my earlier article, liberals abhor responsibility. So black people, having any responsibility for their lives completely removed, naturally migrate to liberalism. Of course the astute person would notice this sounds an awful lot like slavery. It is neo-slavery, and the most evil form of servitude in existence – slavery without the enslaved even knowing it. The worst part is race-hustlers like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright are often the ones holding the whip.

Gays

Again, I refuse to use the term LGBT. Seriously? Do you honestly want to be referred to by an acronym?

The gay community is the second on the hierarchy of victims. Again, because they are an easy group to empathize with. Thank about it, anyone can be gay right? Your son, daughter, husband, mustachioed cop, anybody. Who can’t empathize with people you know? It is easy to imagine what your son or daughter’s life would be like if they suddenly were gay. We read about the bullying and the injustice to gay people on a daily basis. Would you want your child to suffer the same?

This is also an easy hypocrisy call for the liberals against social conservatives. Oh how they love it when a conservative is gay, or has gay children – almost like they think being gay is a problem.

Why are gays predominantly liberal? This one is easy. Moral relativism. Gay people are constantly fighting against morality, and this stems from their own internal shame at something most conservatives (not talking religious nuts) could care less about. Why feel shame for something that you can’t control? Partly this is societal standards, partly it is insecurity. This insecurity manifests itself most often in the over the top overt way some gay people feel they have to express their lifestyle. They aren’t happy with just being gay, they want the whole world to know it, and accept it. This is all ego fulfillment for insecurity. It is natural, but counterproductive.

But moral relativism with regards to sexuality is a liberal issue only. True conservatives really don’t care what you do in your bedroom. Liberals on the other hand care a lot. You are defined by a private sexual act. How shallow could a person possibly be to stereotype you by how you like to have sex? I guess its no more shallow than stereotyping you by skin color, so…

Latinos

This group is slowly rising up the hierarchy of victims, the reason it is not at the top is because this is one of the hardest groups for liberals to empathize with. Not much is known about our “brothers” from the south. They come from so many different countries, many don’t speak English, they are very insular – its a hard group to break into. Without being able to empathize, liberals can only sympathize, which is much less effective and often just comes off as talking nice (or down) about Latinos.

But liberals are making headway, helped of course by Latinos. The most recent “victim”, Meg Whitman’s housekeeper Niki Diaz. Diaz is a perfect poster girl for the liberal Latino. She speaks English, she can cry on demand, and she was taken advantage of by an evil conservative. The liberals immediately forgive Niki for any responsibility she may have had in breaking the law. In fact, as with blacks, liberals forgive Latinos for any and all responsibility because they have been “targeted” by Arizona and America in general. Again, neo-slavery at its best.

Why are Latinos a growing liberal group? For most the same reason blacks are. When someone is willing to remove all responsibility from your life, it is an easy draw.

Muslims

This is another growing group in the hierarchy of victims, but for a completely different reason. Most liberals can not empathize with muslims on any level, the majority of muslim culture is so foreign to Americans there is no room to empathize. So why are muslims in the victim hierarchy?

The main and only reason, because America is at war with Islam. Liberals have been taught since birth that America is a bad and unjust place. America is the default bad guy in any war. Islam is currently a useful idiot to liberals who need a cause to elevate their ego. What ego boost do you get from defending America? None in the eyes of the liberal – everyone loves an underdog, and Islam currently fits that mold perfectly. Before 9/11, would you even have associated Islam with liberals? Maybe every now and then, but not to the level we see nowadays.

Why are muslims liberals? They aren’t overwhelmingly liberal yet, but they are trending that way. Most surveys show muslims as very family-value oriented, which favors conservatives, but on political issues especially in regards to religion, they much more favor liberal views. Which is kind of a conundrum. Liberals traditionally oppose religion, but they favor Islam’s right to practice. Again, this is just a push-back against Christianity that everyone concedes is the main religion of America. Liberals are not anti-religion, they are anti-Christianity. The reason for that is another blog post.

Jews

Jews are an excellent group for liberals to empathize with. How hard can it be to empathize with a group of white people who were slaughtered by the millions only 70 years ago?

The harder thing to understand is why Jews are liberal. Is it a baby-boomer push-back at the world who allowed the holocaust to happen? Maybe. Is it a push-back at the strict conservative nature of their parents, reinforced by the turmoil of the sixties? Also, maybe. I do not know the answer to this one.

Other races

This would be the Asiatic races primarily, but also some Slavic races as well. They are pretty low on the victim hierarchy because for the most part, these people do not view themselves as victims. To be sure, there are aberrations in any group, but they are mostly self-reliant, insular groups.

Conclusion

So as you can see, to a liberal, everyone is a victim, even if they don’t know it.  This of course ties into the overarching fear of responsibility liberals all possess.  If we are all victims in one way or another, then how can we be responsible when we lash out at our oppressors?  How can we be responsible if we don’t succeed in our job, or school, or life?  We can’t be held responsible, the cards are stacked against us.  The only people that succeed in America are the lucky few and the wealthy one percent, everyone else is ground under the shoe of oppression.
