Is it possible to be lucky you were raped sooner rather than later?

March 28, 2011

Video: Arrests Made After Iman al Obeidi Burst Into Tripoli Hotel To Make Rape Allegations | World News | Sky News.

According to the reports, this woman, Iman al Obeidi was arrested and held captive for two days, wherein she was physically beaten and raped.  Following her ordeal, 5 people have been arrested in relation to her ordeal.  All I have to say is, she is lucky it happened now, and not in, let’s say, 5 years.

Why would you say such a thing fleece?

Well, I’ll tell you.  Considering the nature of the forces arrayed against the odd-ball transvestite dictator of Libya, forces I might add, whom are fully supported by our odd-ball non-transvestite dictator of America, her chances of justice would be slight to say the least.  The Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda, and any Islamist group called to jihad, if they gain power, will most assuredly implement Sharia law in Libya.  What does Islam, the Koran and Sharia say about rape?

All the following information is from the religionofpeace.com, but that website is by no means unique in exposing these facts:

Qur’an (2:282) – Establishes that a woman’s testimony is worth only half that of a man’s in court (there is no “he said/she said” gridlock in Islam).

Qur’an (24:4)“And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses (to adultery), flog them…”

Qur’an (24:13)“Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah.”

Qur’an (2:223)“Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will…” There is no such thing as rape in marriage, as a man is permitted unrestricted sexual access to his wives.  [fleece’s note: tilth is translated as field, or a piece of property]

Bukhari (5:59:462) – The background for the Qur’anic requirement of four witnesses to adultery.  Muhammad’s favorite wife, Aisha, was accused of cheating [on her polygamous husband].  Three witnesses corroborated the event, but Muhammad did not want to believe it, and so established the arbitrary rule that four witnesses are required.  [fleece’s note – this last one is from a Hadith – a biography of Muhammad considered canonical in Islam]

For those not following what the eloquent poetry of the Koran is trying to say, I will summarize in stupid American English – if a woman is raped, she needs to provide 4 male witnesses to attest to the crime.  And they must be eye witnesses (not sure what those four dudes were doing while the woman was being raped).  Under Islam, a woman can not testify against a Muslim man, she can against one of those evil icky unbelievers, but never a follower of Allah.

But here is the real kicker – if she does not provide 4 male witnesses, but still deigns to accuse a Muslim man of rape, then she is actually confessing her own crime of adultery.  A most heinous act in the eyes of Allah.

Think I am digging up crap from Islam’s glorious history and trying to paint the current “religion” as some archaic monstrosity?  If you voted for Obama, probably yes.  But…let me tell you about a little country named Pakistan.

In 1979, Pakistan codified a set of laws known as the Hudood Ordinance.  This ordinance was an attempt to move Pakistan more culturally in line with Islamic law, thus they outlawed such evils as drinking, theft, and adultery as well as false accusations of adultery.  How did the women fare under the new ordinances, again, more inline with Islamic law?  I will let Mehnaz Sahibzada from the web site The Politics of Rape in Pakistan: Victim or Criminal? summarize for us:

About seventy to seventy-five percent of women imprisoned in Pakistan have been convicted under the Hudood Ordinance, according to a August [sic]1997 Inter Press Service article. Shahla Haeri, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Boston University, and specialist on women’s issues in Iran and Pakistan, confirms that “chances are great that most women in jail in Pakistan are imprisoned under the Hudood Ordinance.”

Imprisoned specifically because they had the gall to be raped!  Or, I guess more specifically, they had the gall to be raped while absent the company of 4 Muslim men of upstanding character who would be willing to let the rape happen (they must visually witness penetration) and then testify against the man who did the raping.  You honestly couldn’t make up a law more backward than this.

Again, the liberals out there will probably direct our attention to the 2006 passing of the Women’s Protection Bill, and of course they are correct, the Hudood Ordinances are a thing of the past (as if they weren’t already).  So let’s look at the new “protections” for women Pakistan decided to pass.

The most notable change, is that rape is now tried and investigated under the Pakistani Penal Code, as opposed to the Pakistani Sharia courts, so amazing concepts of police work like seeking evidence are now allowed.

What else.  Ohh, adultery is now only punishable by stoning to death.  Wait, did I read that wrong?  Guess not, the Women’s Protection Bill doesn’t touch the crime of adultery, that still falls under the Hudood Ordinances.

Not to be undone, the Federal Shariat Court, the Islamic Law court who sole purpose in life is to “examine and decide the question whether or not any law or provision of law is repugnant to the injunctions of Islam, as laid down in the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).[from The International Herald Tribune]”, has decided to reinstate the requirement of 4 Muslim male witnesses before a rape conviction can be sought.  Those Pakistani dudes must seriously wanna get some rape on.

To be fair, this new ruling by the FSC has sparked much controversy in Pakistan, so it is not a cut and dry, “We say this, it is the law now” case, but I only point out these facts as evidence of what life can be like under Islamic Law.

So back to the beginning of the whole story – Miss al Obeidi is quite lucky she was raped now, instead of a few years from now when the Muslim Brotherhood gets its way in Libya.  Not only would she see no justice, but most likely would find herself in jail for having the sheer audacity of being raped.

Great post. The silence is deafening. And the Women’s groups? Code Pink? Nothing. Wait until Egypt and Libya have Sharia Law. I wonder then if there will be any reaction.

Nope. Their common enemy (the West and capitalism) is greater than the few measly lives of some women.

That was my first thought as well. I find it hilarious that the feminazis are turning a blind eye to the greatest threat to feminism ever created.

They always do. If not, they would be railing against Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, etc. on a daily basis. They got bigger fish to fry right now, like tearing down Western Civ, you know like Jesse Jackson said, “Hey Hey, Ho HO, Western Civ has got to go!”, then they are about actually trying to enact “true change” around the world. If a couple sacrificial lambs have to go in the process, that is the price to be paid for the greater good.

Great post, you are back and firing on all cylinders! We are supporting these rebels and we don’t even know who the hell they are. Obama is getting credit for starting democracy in Egypt but once the Muslim Brotherhood take over will he accept the blame? And what if the MB take over in Libya? This is a disaster waiting to happen!

Thanks for the kind words my friend. =)

There will be no democracy in Egypt – the concept of a plurality is anathema to Islam.

No doubt it will be Bush’s fault if things don’t work out.

      • March 28, 2011 8:17 pm

Nah, the libs will blame Libya on Reagan.

I can not think of anything worse for a woman than to be raped and then be punished because of her “crime”. So many believers of Islam treat women this way and they have the audacity to call us infidels and barbarians. Go figure that one out.

It is hard to fathom. Us Westerners are so passed the total devotion to a concept such as “God rules everything”, that even our most devout Christians and Jews seem vanilla compared to a modestly devout Muslim in the East. This devotion is why any concept of “reforming” Islam is a whitewash at best – Muslims do not see it as something that needs to be reformed. To even contemplate the idea of reforming the world of Allah is not only apostasy, it is blasphemous, crimes that carry the weightiest punishment imaginable.

The Muslim Brotherhood is winning the day in Egypt. What a surprise. Islam was designed by a man for the sole benefit of men. You might like this article, Fleece

Great post, Fleece! I have been railing about this story on Facebook the last two days… you just gave me more ammo for the firefight.

Thank you and so glad I could help. =)
