Obama’s weekly address – Socialism and Individualism in the same address

July 2, 2011

WEEKLY ADDRESS: Cutting the Deficit and Creating Jobs | The White House.

It must be nice to be a progressive President in America.  You can say whatever you want and the only people who will challenge your assertions are psycho right-wing extremist racist homophobic islamophobic bitter clingers, and since we are all those things, who gives a crap what we say?  In El Presidente’s weekly address today, he had some interesting assertions to make…not really.  It was his typical class warfare meme, but there was a part I found rather intriguing:

Now, it would be nice if we could keep every tax break, but we can’t afford them.  Because if we choose to keep those tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, or for hedge fund managers and corporate jet owners, or for oil and gas companies pulling in huge profits without our help – then we’ll have to make even deeper cuts somewhere else.  We’ve got to say to a student, ‘You don’t get a college scholarship.’  We have to say to a medical researcher, ‘You can’t do that cancer research.’ We might have to tell seniors, ‘You have to pay more for Medicare.’ [emphasis added]

Okay, this sounds like the Messiah we have all come to know and love.  Those millionaires who make 250k a year, those damn corporate jet owners, those evil hedge fund managers that got us into this mess (remember, before Obama, there was NO regulation on anything in America).  In typical Obama fashion, we are presented with a straw-man argument – tax-increase or no college.  Tax-increase or no cure for cancer.  Tax-increase or dead seniors.

It’s nice to know he can lay out his argument without ideologically tidy (thanks Chucky Schumer for that line) phrases like this one:

And nothing can be off limits, including spending in the tax code, particularly the loopholes that benefit very few individuals and corporations.

Can I call “socialist tripe” on this one?  Spending in the tax code can only come from the mind of someone who believes “All your money are belong to us”, and you should be happy we let you keep any of it.

But it’s not all doom and gloom from the Commissar-in-Chief, he leaves us with this:

On Monday, we celebrate Independence Day, the day we declared a new nation, based on revolutionary idea: that people ought to determine their own destiny; that freedom and self-governance weren’t gifts handed to us by kings or emperors, but the rights of every human being.  We’ve learned in the years since that democracy isn’t always pretty.

People ought to determine their own destiny, unless they are “millionaires and billionaires, or for hedge fund managers and corporate jet owners, or for oil and gas companies”.  Self-governance wasn’t a gift handed to us by kings or emperors – or Messiahs, The One, or progressive Aristocrats.  And I hate to break it to you Constitutional scholar, lawyer and the smartest guy in the room, America is NOT a democracy.

Considering his address is amazingly contradictory, I guess I should take it like everything else he says, complete BULLS**T.

Exactly! His address was bullsh*t. He is the Anti-American communistic president.

Considering his ties to big business and labor unions, I would call him the Anti-American fascist president.

Obama is a complicated one to explain. Obama seems to embrace all that is bad, the bad which comes from each of the political ideologies. I think that’s why it’s hard to nail him down to one position or belief ideologically speaking.

Hmm, that’s rather profound. I never thought of it that way, but you are correct. How the hell does one take that view of life?

He was mightily worried that it would impact the National Weather Service. here’s a little of some of the vital stuff they do –

Yeah, I read that piece from National Review. Must be a union involved somewhere for him to have mentioned them.

I think what he meant is that we, as individuals, have the collective right to STFU and do what ever the government tells us to do.

I am sick and tired of this BS from our highest level AINO (American in Name Only). It is time that we once again determine our own destiny and vote this AINO out of office.

1 more year, and then we will see what our fellow Americans truly stand for. I am hoping they live up to my expectations.

      Sounds about right. =)

I wonder when comrade Obama is going start wearing a red barrete?

    • July 2, 2011 11:53 pm

      Che Obama? More like Rerun.

  6. July 2, 2011 9:26 pm

Again he is trying to have it both ways and he thinks that we are too stupid to see it.

    • July 2, 2011 11:53 pm

The problem is, most of us are. =(

He shoots, he scores! nice takedown, Fleece. Most of the stuff that Obama says is patently ridiculous or contradictory. I hope the voters live up to your expectations too.

      Thanks. =)
