Intransigence only applies to the right =(

July 18, 2011

Damn GOP, they aren’t going into these debt talks with the heartwarming feelgood puppy-dogs and popsicles approach of regular normal non-extremist folks who desire, nay DEMAND, compromise.  How dare they say “No tax increases”?  Don’t they understand how the system works?  The left says what they want, the right caves, and everyone is happy!

So completely ignore when President Obama says he will flat-out veto a Balanced Budget Amendment that comes across his desk.  He is not being intransigent, he is doing what is good for the country.  A balanced budget!?!  Are you freaking kidding me?  How can the government feed the unions, GE, GM, the global warming industrial complex and every other necessity of western civilization if we can’t spend more than we take in?  I mean, if we don’t pass this debt-ceiling deal, the Social Security checks won’t go out!  Nevermind that there is trillions in Al Gore’s lockbox, if we run out of credit, that money disappears faster than Jane Fonda at an Independence Parade.

Ignore the global warming folks who won’t even consider that their “settled science” possibly could be a tad bit bogus, or at least founded on unethical and greed motivated studies.  They aren’t being intransigent, they are doing what is good for the world.

Ignore Obama when he won’t even ponder the thought of consulting Congress or the American people when he unilaterally decided to NOT attack Libya with missiles and bombs.  That’s not intransigence, that is what is good for the country.  We need the oil.  I can’t think of a better reason to take out a dictator than for oil, can you?

Speaking of Muslims, ignore the Administration when they will not even consider that the majority of terrorist acts in the world are being performed by that religion.  That’s not intransigence, that is what is good for the country, because if we can’t be multi-cultural and pro-Islam, we don’t deserve to exist.

Ignore the President and his assault on “Corporate Jet Owners” and “best-selling authors” by his refusal to back away from demands that “revenue spending” be curbed.  That’s not intransigence, that is what is good for the country, because only idiots think we have a spending problem in America.

Yep, the only people who are being intransigent are the GOP, those uncompromising bastards.  If what they wanted to do was even remotely good for the country, more people would get behind them, but its obvious what they are doing – paying off their buddies at GE, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, GM, Chrysler and….wait, I might have gotten a little confused.  Umm, Republicans are racists!!!

Republicans just need to start being ignorant robots, drink some of that Obammy Kool-Aid, say Yes Sir Yes Sir King Barack and then they’ll be appreciated and adored by the media. Dang those conservatives who don’t want to pile on debt after debt.

Talking to Obama and Co is like talking to a brick wall. Although, maybe a brick wall is more useful than liberals are?

Have you seen the latest CBS poll where it shows more of the public supports Obama in the debt talks than the GOP? Have the American people not learned from past events? Whoever was polled and favored Obama in that CBS question are such dolts.

More than likely, the oversampled Democrats to get that result. We’ve been seeing that more and more lately. Polls are no longer meant to reflect public opinion. They are meant to SHAPE public opinion.

But he doesn’t mind taking campaign contributions from those evil corporate jet owners, does he?

I mean, after all, more than 80% of the public supports the President’s plan. We know, because he told us so, and the media agreed. So, it must be so.

But, like Nancy said, I guess we have to pass it so we’ll know what’s in it.

You know I was talking to a friend about a very similar topic today. We were talking about how successful the left has been at painting the right as extremist. When you hear extremist you now automatically equate it to the right of the political spectrum. The truth is there are a large number of extremists on the left however the public has been conditioned to see only extremists on the right. This is why Obama and the radicalism of the left has been given a free pass for the most part. Also having the MSM in your pocket helps. It wasn’t by accident that the Marxists found their way into our college campuses to shape and mold the young minds. They knew that if they could shape the opinions of the youth, they would be laying the foundation for the country to move to the far left. This is why it is the right that must always compromise because the picture the left has painted is they’re the centrists…the rational ones. The right are the nut jobs.

They have done a fine job of making us seem like a bunch of extremists, that’s for sure. Part of is our fault for standing idly by for so long, but it’s hard to stand up when you keep getting knocked back down.

Yep. And you know it’s not going to end well.

Hopefully I’m wrong, but I think Republicans will cave on spending, and all will be right with the world again.

Great post! You highlighted the hypocrisy and the duplicity of the left perfectly. Obama is engaged in the same partisan politics that he is claiming the Republicans are involved in yet we are supposed to believe that he is right and the Republicans are wrong for doing so. He is unwilling to compromise even as he calls for compromise and he doesn’t think the American people can see through this.

The demonization of the GOP will deceive only those who are already politically gullible. Of course, those who are politically gullible may well comprise a substantial portion of the electorate. 😦

And therein lies a paradox. Did any of these fine, upstanding, “caring” leftist organizations offer to take less so Gran and Gramps can eat next month? Doubtful, although they don’t need to, the checks are gonna go out. Typical obama scare tactics and thuggery.

Ah, but the ‘bi-partisan’ Gang of Six offers a solution–a deficit-reduction plan “that calls for $1 trillion in what sponsors delicately called ‘additional revenue’ “. What’s bi-partisan about 3 Dems & 3 RINOs proposing a trilllion bucks in new taxes? Don’t forget, that’s on top of the trillions in new taxes due to be imposed by Obamacare in the not-so-far-off future. According to the Hill, the plan “adopts a two-track approach: a $500 billion down payment and a later reform bill generating an additional $3.2 trillion in deficit reduction. That later bill is largely left up to committees of jurisdiction, and they are only required to meet specific savings targets.”

In other words, it’s a cave-in. No wonder Obama likes it.

Why oh why didn’t someone talk about the House GOP Bill passed yesterday? No, the Gang of sick six suckers had to steal the show. Obama then comes out all puffed up. We did it to ourselves. Then Coburn comes out and says he doesn’t plan on needing to get re-elected, he is going back to medicine. Just a one termer. I have yet to hear any details on the House bill.

I’m not intransigent. I have two very simple acceptance criteria:

    (1) Real, current and contemporaneous, spending cuts matching the amount of any debt ceiling raise. Amount does not matter, just the dollar-for-dollar match. How’s that for flexibility?

    (2) Not one red cent in current and contemporaneous tax (revenue) increases. They can set up whatever process they want for future negotiations on “comprehensive” code reform. How’s that for flexibility?

So the House passes a bill and Harry Reid kills it. Won’t even let it come to a vote. Who is Obstructionist?
